CLAREMONT, N.C. - Mary Sue Wilfong Miller, 89, of Claremont passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024 at The Greens of Viewmont in Hickory.

She was born March 20, 1935 in Catawba County to the late Albert and Phoebe Blackburn Wilfong. Mary Sue was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Claremont and retired from Peoples Bank. She was a member of Methodist Women, an ECCCM volunteer, loved tending her flowers, was involved with many church activities and loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Miller; brother, Jim Wilfong; son-in-law, Bennett Sigmon; sisters-in-law, Gayle Wilfong and Brenda Wilfong.

Those left to cherish her memory is her son Roger Miller of Claremont; daughter Kathy Sigmon of Catawba; brothers Albert Wilfong of Davis, John Wilfong of Longwood; god-daughter Selina Setzer of Claremont; grandchildren Michelle Chase, Miranda Braley, Aaron Sigmon and Julia Null; great-grandchildren Maddox Sigmon, Carter Sigmon, Avery Braley, Charlie Null, Chandler Null and Caroline Null; numerous nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Mary Sue’s life will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Claremont. Rev. Dr. Tony Bell will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
