Ministry clothes closet in need of multiple items
Plus: food pantry needs a lot of help as well

LINCOLNTON––Feeding and clothing the needy is a core tenet of the Christian message.
And according to Mitzi Williams, Christian Ministry of Lincoln County can use your help to fulfill those needs. The ministry’s executive director, Williams said Thursday that its clothing closet and food pantry are in dire need of many items.
For the clothes closet, this includes men’s boxer underwear in sizes from medium to double extra-large; men’s shoes in all sizes; men’s T-shirts and shorts in all sizes as well; and men’s jeans in all sizes, too. Plus, women’s T-shirts and shorts are likewise needed in all sizes, and women’s underwear is needed in small, medium and large sizes.
“Our pantry is in urgent need of pop-top canned food items,” said Williams. “For examples: beanie weenies, Vienna sausages, fruit cups and canned tuna.”
Also: are you a new mother? Do you need diapers for your babies? If so, the ministry has diapers for newborns and infants. You needn’t fill out any paperwork or be interviewed. Just come by the ministry and ask for Williams or Mimi Rhyne.
With the help of its member churches, local businesses, social groups and individual supporters, Christian Ministry seeks to meet the needs of those who are less fortunate through its emergency services, soup kitchen, annual Christmas campaign, nursing home program and, for local elderly and shut-in residents, the delivery of LINC Home Meals.
