Ministry Gearing Up Now For Christmas
Williams: now is the time for co-ordinating volunteer efforts
LINCOLNTON––Christian Ministry of Lincoln County is preparing now for its annual Christmas efforts.
According to executive director Mitzi Williams, it’s time to start thinking about volunteering. As Williams informed Friday, if you, your business or civic or church organization can volunteer, let the ministry know.
“If you or your group would like to help sort food for Christmas, the two weeks after Thanksgiving are the best weeks to help,” she said.
Want to help? Call Williams now at (704) 732-0383 to sign up to volunteer.
And there are also other ways you can help at Christmas. Williams reminds you that you may donate toys, food and financial assistance.
“Keep watching for more information in the coming weeks for all of these opportunities and more!” she added.
In other news, the ministry’s clothing closet is in need of tennis shoes (walking shoes) in all sizes for men, women, boys and girls. New undergarments for women in all sizes are also needed, as are men’s T-shirts and men’s pants in sizes 30, 32 and 34.
With the help of its member churches, local businesses, social groups and individual supporters, Christian Ministry seeks to meet the needs of those who are less fortunate through its emergency services, soup kitchen, annual Christmas campaign, nursing home program and, for local elderly and shut-in residents, the delivery of LINC Home Meals.
