LINCOLNTON––Christian Ministry of Lincoln County is saying a big thank-you for some recent contributions.

According to executive director Mitzi Williams, the ministry just received a nice delivery of a large amount of food items and paper products collected by the members of Cedar Grove Lutheran Church. A group from the church recently dropped off these items at the ministry. On behalf of Christian Ministry, Williams expressed sincere gratitude.

In other news, the soup kitchen is in need of 55-gallon trash bags, butter and olive oil. Relatedly, the pantry needs crackers, peanut butter, breakfast foods, detergent, bar soap and pop-top canned foods.

And with school about to start up again in a few days, school supplies are out in the local stores right now, as Williams noted.

“It’s a great time for you to help us stock up on our school supply closet,” she said. “The Lincoln County Schools will be starting back soon, and we will have families coming to the ministry needing supplies. Help us to help them! We also have families needing supplies throughout the school year, and we want to be able to help them as well.”

With the help of its member churches, local businesses, social groups and individual supporters, Christian Ministry seeks to meet the needs of those who are less fortunate through its emergency services, soup kitchen, annual Christmas campaign, nursing home program and, for local elderly and shut-in residents, the delivery of LINC Home Meals.
