Mr. Chrisley "Chris" Dorsey
Mr. Chrisley "Chris" Dorsey, Jr., 80, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Atrium Health - Kings Mountain.
Chris was born on November 21, 1944 in Gaston County, NC a son of the late Chrisley Dorsey, Sr. and Alma Tutherow Dorsey. He was retired from Hagan-Kennington Oil Company in Gastonia. Chris was a member of Anthony Grove Baptist Church in Crouse where he was a member of the Barnabas Sunday School class, the choir, participated in the Easter Drama, went on several mission trips and started the Goodtimers Senior Group. He was also a member of Cherryville American Legion Post 100. Chris served in the U.S. Army as a gunner crew chief during Vietnam.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Reep Dorsey; a brother, James Dorsey; sisters, June Leonhardt, Louise Henderson, Geneva Schronce, Edna Joyce Dorsey, Alberta Taylor and Caleen Hawkins.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Mauldin Carpenter Dorsey of the home; a son, Chrisley Dorsey, III and wife Angela of Fallston; three daughters, Nicole Stines and husband Chris of Vale; Miranda Carpenter Spangler and husband Greg of Shelby; Laura Hamrick of Cherryville; five grandchildren, Brandon Stines and wife Sarah; Drew Dorsey, Troy and Collins Spangler; Hennessie Hamrick; three sisters, Shelby Ellis of Lenoir; Rosilee Shuford of North Myrtle Beach, SC; Mary Lee Smith of Rocky Mount; a brother-in-law Don Mauldin of Lincolnton and a nephew Tyler Mauldin.
The family will receive friends from 12:45PM to 1:45PM on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Terry Floyd officiating. Military Honors will be provided by Cherryville American Legion Post 100 Honor Guard.
Burial will be private.
