Nancy Biggerstaff Watts
December 25, 1933 - September 21, 2024
LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Nancy Biggerstaff Watts, age 90, of 3258 Startown Road, Lincolnton, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, September 21, 2024.
Nancy was born in Lincoln County. She was the daughter of the late Coen and Mary Biggerstaff and was preceded in death by her brother Terry Biggerstaff.
She was dedicated to her family, friends, and Marvin United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her two daughters Billie Lawson, husband RL, Denver, N.C. and Deborah Perry, husband Rhett Toney, Gaffney, S.C. Granddaughter Alicia McDaniel, husband Lucas McDaniel, Gaffney, S.C. and two great-grandchildren, Savannah and Coen McDaniel.
Nancy retired from Ethan Allen where she worked in Quality Control. She was a 46-year Breast Cancer Survivor and devoted her time and efforts to collecting and participating in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
She was President of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 1706 in Lincolnton for many years, selling Poppies on Veterans Day, supporting the Annual Memorial Service, and organized, prepared and posted care packages to U.S. troops deployed in Kawait.
Nancy was a lifelong member of Marvin United Methodist Church where she shared her talents supporting the workings within the church especially United Methodist Women, Fundraisers, and their Breakfast. She loved her church family, visited shut-ins and was always in attendance when the doors were open.
Nancy loved her family, cared for her special needs brother and cherished her little dog Peaches. The family wishes to give special honor and recognition to Angie Davis, Dedean Isenhour, David Davidson and Edith Martin for their love and support as well as others that mailed cards and visited.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024, in the Marvin United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall with Pastor Mike Devine officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Marvin United Methodist Church, 2731 Startown Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
