Colby Setzer, loving husband and father, friend to many, heart of gold, passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife on Thursday, July 18, 2024. 

He was surrounded by his children, sister, and his precious family in his final days.  Colby will be remembered for the love of his family, thoughtfulness of others, and his ability to overcome life’s challenges.  He will be deeply missed by all who truly knew him, but we will continue to live out Colby’s legacy.  

A Celebration of Colby’s life will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at the Farm, Redemption Ranch, 725 Alpine Lane, Iron Station, NC  28080, with Rev. David Mays officiating.  All are welcome to attend to share in the life Colby loved.

Colby was born May 28, 1984, in Lincoln County, to Angie Cline Setzer and the late Nathan Setzer.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Phyllis Friday; grandfather, Jerry Cline; and grandfather, Max Setzer.  He was the owner of Setzer’s Lawn Care, which will be continued by his son, Chandler Setzer. 

He is survived by his wife, Christen Behling Setzer of the home; son, Chandler Setzer; daughter, Carleigh Setzer of the home; mother, Angie Setzer of Lincolnton; sister, Cori Hovis (Michael) of Lincolnton; mother and father-in-law, Tom and Debbie Behling of Iron Station; sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte (Greg) Cox; brother and sister-in-law, Austin (Abi) Behling, Addison Behling; grandmother, Judy Cline of Lincolnton; “Pop”, Lamar Friday of High Shoals; and grandmother, Ibera Setzer of High Shoals.
