Patti Gilleland Dancoff

Patti Gilleland Dancoff, age 63, of Huckleberry Drive in Lincolnton, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Mountain View Baptist Church in Maiden, with Pastor Doug Nab and Pastor Nathan Grooms officiating. Inurnment will be private. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Patti was born August 26, 1961, in Catawba County, to Betty Bell Gilleland and the late Gene Oliver Gilleland. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Gilleland.
She graduated from East Lincoln High School and attended business classes at Gaston College. She worked at Carolina Freight in Cherryville, Heafner Tire in Lincolnton, Hills Community in Huntersville and most recently worked as an accountant at VT LeeBoy in Maiden.
Patti has been an active member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Maiden, Pearl Baptist Church in Iron Station, Covenant Bible Church in Lincolnton, and most recently Catawba Valley Church in Maiden. She taught Sunday School, Girls in Action, and taught many years of Vacation Bible School and made friends everywhere she went. She made everyone feel loved, valued, appreciated, seen and invited them all to be a part of her family.
She loved to cook and entertain. She planned countless weddings, bridal and baby showers, birthday and graduation parties, family dinners, shrimp boils, BBQs, and pool parties. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, wonderful sister, caring friend, and the best Grammy in the world. She sent cards to her grandchildren every birthday, Valentine’s Day, and holiday. She attended many, many ballgames, school plays, and school lunches. She loved making slime and crafts with her grandchildren and loved telling them about Jesus.
She is well-known for her unwavering faith, infectious smile, her gentleness, her kind spirit, and for her generosity toward others.
She was deeply loved and will be very much missed. She made the world around her a better and more beautiful place.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Dancoff of the home; daughters, Alisha H. Tuck (Zach) of Advance, NC, and Katie D. Hare (Thomas) of Catawba; mother, Betty Bell Gilleland of Maiden; brothers, Ronnie Gilleland (Vicky) of Statesville, and Scott Gilleland (Michelle) of Newton; four grandchildren, Abram Hare, Piper Tuck, Maddy Hare, and Liam Tuck; and many nieces and nephews.
