Ray Morris Reed
Ray Morris Reed, 80, of Catawba passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
He was born July 20, 1944 in Catawba County to the late Marvin Edward Reed and Ruth Maurene Brown Reed. Ray retired as a cabinet maker and enjoyed antiquing with his late wife, Paula. He loved playing bluegrass music with his friends, and was an awesome artist.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years: Paula Miller Reed.

Daughter: Tina Reed Barnes and husband Darren of Hiddenite
Brother: Charles Reed and wife Rona of Newton
Sister: Carol Pope of Hickory
Brother-In-Law: Wayne Pope of Conover
His little buddy: Tanner
Grandchildren: Jessica Barnes Bryan and husband Caleb, Annabeth Barnes Crum and husband Jake, Heather Reed, Brittany Reed Martin and husband Tony
Great-Grandchildren: Bentley Crum, Adalynn Tomlin Crum, Kenley Crum, Ivy Bryan, Noah Bryan, and River Martin
A memorial service to celebrate Ray’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. at Catawba Baptist Church in Catawba. Rev. Derek Jones will officiate. A private inurnment will be held at a later date at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church cemetery in Claremont. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. at Catawba Baptist Church.
