LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Shirley Lucile Carpenter Payseur, age 90, of Lincolnton, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024.

Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at River View Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Brookshire officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Payseur was born March 1, 1934, in Gaston County, to the late Z.S. “Bub” Carpenter and Elizabeth “Lizzy” Harmon Carpenter.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Edward “L.E.” Payseur Jr.; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Troy Carpenter and Lathan Carpenter; and two sisters, Erlene Mosteller and Beth Terres. 

She is survived by two daughters, June Shiver of Dallas and Belinda Butler (Eric) of Lincolnton; sons, Edward “Ed” Payseur (Sandra) of Seneca, S.C. and Phillip Payseur (Wendy) of Crouse; sister, Margie Alexander of Kings Mountain; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
