Stanley Man Charged With Sex Offenses
Multi-agency investigation into child pornography and online solicitation of minors

On July 29, 2024, a Lincoln County man has been charged with multiple sex offenses. The investigation began as a result of a multi-agency investigation into child pornography and online solicitation of minors. The man is accused of sending and receiving photos and videos of prepubescent females that were engaged in sexual activity.
Detective A. Swim with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division has collected data and other materials that show the activity. Detectives say the man also took and attempted to take photos and videos of a minor that was used for the purpose of arousing and gratifying a sexual desire. According to Detectives, this is an ongoing investigation, and additional charges are likely.
Kristopher Kirtley, 51, of Stanley, was charged with one felony count each of Indecent Liberties With a Child and Second Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. Kirtley is being held in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond.
