Steve Allen Goodson
Steve Allen Goodson passed from this life Saturday morning, March 8, 2025. He is walking in green pastures with his Lord.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Bobbi Beal Goodson of the home, son Darrin Goodson of Rutherfordton, daughter Stephanie Ijames (Chris) of Charlotte and much-loved grandchildren Columbia and Campbell; his nephew Joshua Friday (Shalina), little Isabella, and Amelia who have a special place in his heart; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Elam Crawford Goodson and mother Margaret Campbell Goodson.
He retired from trucking in 2003, being a local pickup and delivery driver. In retirement he worked part-time for Greenline Turf and Tractor. His “happy place” was outside seeing God’s creation. He enjoyed raising beef cattle, making hay, mowing grass, and planting garden. He was a Nascar fan and Ford was his brand. He was a dedicated husband, father, and Papaw. He served the Lord and his church family with love. He lived a simple life. His word was his bond and you have been blessed to call him friend. Married to his first love for 57 years, he was a loving and dedicated role model as a father, Papaw, and Gramps. The world is a better place because of the seeds he has planted.
A service to celebrate Steve’s life will be held at Ivey Memorial Methodist Church on Wednesday, March 12. 2025 at 3:30 pm with receiving immediately before at 2:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ivey Memorial Methodist Church, 1360 Ivey Church Road, Maiden NC 28650.
