Sybilla “Kay” Abernathy Jordan
April 20, 1941 – August 8, 2024
MAIDEN, N.C. - Sybilla “Kay” Abernathy Jordan, age 83 of Maiden passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024 at her residence.
She was born April 20, 1941 in Catawba County and was the daughter of the late Jane Abernathy Shook. In addition to her mother, husband, Horace Jordan; son, Blake Taylor and her first husband, Bill Taylor preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Cindy Taylor of the home; grandson Brandon Taylor and wife Marlo of Charlotte; granddaughter Kaylee Taylor of Maiden; and great-granddaughters Blayke Taylor, Brynn Taylor, Kohen Taylor.
The funeral service will be held Monday, August 12, 2024 at 4 p.m. at Burke Mortuary Chapel in Maiden with Pastor Nathaniel Austin officiating.
Burial will follow in Lawings Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Maiden.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3-3:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
