Two Arrested & Charged with Felony Controlled Substance; Weapons Violations
Charges related to the possession and sale of cocaine

MAIDEN, N.C. - On Thursday, September 12, 2024, Maiden Police Officers arrested 72-year-old Paul Douglas Baker of Maiden and 43-year-old Rebecca Huitron of Conover on charges related to the possession and sale of cocaine.
Paul Douglas Baker was charged with: four counts of Trafficking Cocaine, three counts of Felony Possession of Cocaine, and four counts of Possession of a Firearm by Felon. Baker was taken before a Catawba County Magistrate who ordered him held in the Catawba County Detention Center under a $750,000 secured bond.
Rebecca Huitron was charged with Felony Possession of Cocaine and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Huitron was taken before a Catawba County Magistrate who ordered her held with No Bond in the Catawba County Detention Center.
Following Baker and Huitron’s arrest, officers executed a search warrant on Baker’s 703 East Main Street, Maiden residence.
The Maiden Police Department was assisted in this investigation by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and United States Department of Homeland Security.
