Vanessa Jane Pruitt Burleson
February 14, 1955 – August 31, 2024
CHERRYVILLE, N.C. - Vanessa Jane Pruitt Burleson, age 69, of Cherryville, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024, at her residence.
She was born February 14, 1955, in Gaston County, to the late Earl Austin Pruitt and Margie Goins Alexander. Jane worked in the restaurant industry and then also in the family business, The Cleaning Professionals. She enjoyed reading, especially James Patterson novels. She also enjoyed watching Forensic Files, Murder She Wrote, and Soap Operas. Jane was a fan of Jeff Gordon and Duke Blue Devils. She loved to smoke her cigarettes and drink her coffee. The family knew not to make conversation with her until she finished her morning cup of coffee. The grandchildren were her pride and joy and she cherished the moments spent with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Charles Billy Burleson.
Survivors include her children, Dana Marie Burleson, Charles Billy Burleson Jr. and Michael David Burleson; grandchildren, Heaven Sa’Dae Burleson, Kaley Burleson, Caleb Burleson, Kylee Burleson, and Emma Burleson; stepmom, Dot Moses Pruitt; mother-in-law, Pauline Buchanan Burleson; sisters, Nancy Fine and Linda Thomas; and brother Charles Pruitt (Lisa).
The family will receive friends Friday, September 6, 2024, from 11-11:45 a.m. at First Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at 12 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Vince Hefner officiating. Burial will be private.
