Benefit Yard Sale, Saturday, August 31: A Huge Yard Sale will be held on August 31 from 7-11 a.m. at East Lincoln Animal Hospital with proceeds going to one of their staff members who lost their home and possessions in a house fire. Items for sale include baby clothes and supplies, children and adult clothes, household items and lots more! Monetary donations on behalf of the family will also be accepted. Kakassy Contemporary Art Exhibition, September 6 – December 31: The exhibit of contemporary artwork by artist C.M. ‘Kit’ Kakassy opens Friday, September 6, at the Gaston County Museum of Art & History, 131 W. Town Wide Yard Sale, Saturday, September 7: Come find great deals at the biggest yard sale around on Saturday, September 7 from 7 a.m. until 12 p.m. in Casar, N.C.  Yard sales up and down and all through this small town located in northern Cleveland County (ZIP Code 28020). Event is rain or shine. Parking available at Casar Park and Casar Elementary School. Restrooms available at the Park and at the Fire Department. This event is sponsored by Casar’s Friends of the Park!

Blues Out Back, Saturday, September 7: Blues Out Back, the popular music series hosted by the Gaston County Museum of Art & History, returns Saturday, September 7 to the Museum garden with The Giftt and his band, Soundz. The Museum is located at 131 W. Main St., Dallas, NC 28034. Tickets are $5 per person are available at the door or on https://www.eventbrite.com/; admission is free to Museum members. Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket. Beverages are available for purchase, and a food truck will be on-site. “Unseen And Overlooked” Exhibition, September 7 – October 28: The Cleveland County Arts Council will host an exhibition on both macro and aerial photography in the arts council galleries at 111 S. Washington St. in Shelby, NC. The opening reception is Saturday, September 7 from 5-7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. For more information visit www.ccartscouncil.org.

#UniteNC “Ready to Vote” Community Education Training, Tuesday, September 10: Experts will provide the latest on voting, elections, and district changes, distribute non-partisan voting resources, and answer questions from 6-7 p.m. at 129 West Water Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092 (behind the James W. Warren Citizens Center).

Lincolnton Remembers 9/11, Wednesday, September 11: American Legion Post 30, 1120 N. Aspen St., Lincolnton, NC 28092 will be serving lunch to First Responders with their Honor Guard performing the ceremony at 12:30 p.m. Doors will open to the public at 11:30 a.m. with a special invitation to First Responders and their families. Guest speaker will be Chaplain Henry Haynes of American Legion Post 30. He is a retired Army Colonel who was at the Pentagon when it was attacked on September 11, 2001.

Kandace Helms 5K and Fun Run, Saturday, September 14: Come walk or run with us at the 8th Annual Kandace Helms 5K and Fun Run on Saturday, September 14 at Betty G. Ross Park, Lincolnton, NC. Lincolnton Food, Wine and Brew Fest, Saturday, September 14 (rescheduled from May 4): Terrific Outdoor Festival featuring NC wineries, local craft breweries, top-notch food trucks, and a mix of regional fine artists. Enjoy an all-day program of entertainment, artists and artisans, and lots of fun set against the backdrop of Historic Downtown Lincolnton! There are activities and offerings for individuals, groups, and families! Due to city regulations and for the animals' safety, no pets, please. If participating in alcohol consumption, please drink responsibly. NOTE: If tickets were purchased for the May 4 event that was cancelled due to the inclement weather – they WILL BE HONORED on September 14.

Denver Junior Fire Fighters Spaghetti Fundraiser, Saturday, September 14: The Denver Junior Fire Fighters will be having a spaghetti dinner fundraiser to support their program. The event will be held at Denver United Methodist Church, 3910 North Highway 16 Denver, NC 28037 (adjacent to Denver Fire Department Headquarters) on Saturday, September 14 from 4-6 p.m. Cost is $10 per plate and will include spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic bread, drink and dessert. Eat-in or Drive-thru service will be available behind the church. A 50/50 raffle will also be held. All proceeds go to the junior program.

Art Exhibition “Oracle” Continues Through September 20: The Arts Council of Lincoln County is hosting an Art Exhibition from August 17 through September 20 by artist Donna Downey. Her exhibition is entitled “Oracle” and is displayed in the Art Gallery of the Lincoln Cultural Center, 403 E. Main St., Lincolnton, NC 28092.

Cruisin’ for a Cause! Saturday, September 21: The Annual Cruisin’ for a Cause event with classic cars and trucks, live music, beer tents, and for food for purchase is still ONLY $1 5 to cruise and park on Main Street like you use to! OR $5 just to cruise. The event is from 5-10 p.m. and you can come and go as you want. The cruisin’ route is East Main Street from Laurel and around the Court Square! Collect those cruisin’ magnets! Lincolnton Alive After Five Concert, Thursday, September 26: Come out and join un for a great night of fun and fantastic musical entertainment on our last concert of the season with Chairman of the Board on Thursday, September 26 from 7-10 p.m. This is a free concert and you don't want to miss it. The stage is set up in front of the Court House on East Main Street and food trucks will be available. You can also purchase beer and wine at the event (you must be 21 in order to purchase and consume alcohol so make sure you have your ID). No outside alcohol and no dogs are allowed at the event for everyone's safety. Bring your dancing shoes and a friend or two for some summertime excitement!
