Kandace Helms 5K and Fun Run, Saturday, September 14: Come walk or run with us at the 8th Annual Kandace Helms 5K and Fun Run on Saturday, September 14 at Betty G. Ross Park, Lincolnton, NC. Lincolnton: 2nd Saturday Shop Local, September 14: Every month, 2nd Saturday is Shop Local Day in Historic Downtown Lincolnton, NC! Lincolnton Food, Wine and Brew Fest, Saturday, September 14 (rescheduled from May 4): Terrific Outdoor Festival featuring NC wineries, local craft breweries, top-notch food trucks, and a mix of regional fine artists. Enjoy an all-day program of entertainment, artists and artisans, and lots of fun set against the backdrop of Historic Downtown Lincolnton! There are activities and offerings for individuals, groups, and families! Due to city regulations and for the animals' safety, no pets, please. If participating in alcohol consumption, please drink responsibly. NOTE: If tickets were purchased for the May 4 event that was cancelled due to the inclement weather – they WILL BE HONORED on September 14.

Denver Junior Fire Fighters Spaghetti Fundraiser, Saturday, September 14: The Denver Junior Fire Fighters will be having a spaghetti dinner fundraiser to support their program. The event will be held at Denver United Methodist Church, 3910 North Highway 16 Denver, NC 28037 (adjacent to Denver Fire Department Headquarters) on Saturday, September 14 from 4-6 p.m. Cost is $10 per plate and will include spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic bread, drink and dessert. Eat-in or Drive-thru service will be available behind the church. A 50/50 raffle will also be held. All proceeds go to the junior program.

Kakassy Contemporary Art Exhibition, Now – December 31: The exhibit of contemporary artwork by artist C.M. ‘Kit’ Kakassy at the Gaston County Museum of Art & History, 131 W. “Unseen And Overlooked” Exhibition, Now – October 28: The Cleveland County Arts Council will host an exhibition on both macro and aerial photography in the arts council galleries at 111 S. Washington St. in Shelby, NC. For more information visit www.ccartscouncil.org.

Art Exhibition “Oracle” Continues Through September 20: The Arts Council of Lincoln County is hosting an Art Exhibition through September 20 by artist Donna Downey. Her exhibition is entitled “Oracle” and is displayed in the Art Gallery of the Lincoln Cultural Center, 403 E. Main St., Lincolnton, NC 28092.

Cruisin’ for a Cause! Saturday, September 21: The Annual Cruisin’ for a Cause event with classic cars and trucks, live music, beer tents, and for food for purchase is still ONLY $1 5 to cruise and park on Main Street like you use to! OR $5 just to cruise. The event is from 5-10 p.m. and you can come and go as you want. The cruisin’ route is East Main Street from Laurel and around the Court Square! Collect those cruisin’ magnets! Poor Man’s Dinner, Saturday, September 21: Come on out for our Poor Man’s Dinner at Crouse Fire Department on Saturday, September 21 from 4-8 p.m. For $7.00 you can get a bowl of pinto beans with cornbread and onion plus have your choice of tea, coffee or water. Come on in and eat! The fire station is located at 2765 NC-150, Crouse, NC 28033.

Lincolnton Alive After Five Concert, Thursday, September 26: Come out and join un for a great night of fun and fantastic musical entertainment on our last concert of the season with Chairman of the Board on Thursday, September 26 from 7-10 p.m. This is a free concert and you don't want to miss it. The stage is set up in front of the Court House on East Main Street and food trucks will be available. You can also purchase beer and wine at the event (you must be 21 in order to purchase and consume alcohol so make sure you have your ID). No outside alcohol and no dogs are allowed at the event for everyone's safety. Bring your dancing shoes and a friend or two for some summertime excitement!
