Kakassy Contemporary Art Exhibition, Now – December 31: The exhibit of contemporary artwork by artist C.M. ‘Kit’ Kakassy at the Gaston County Museum of Art & History, 131 W. “Unseen And Overlooked” Exhibition, Now – October 28: The Cleveland County Arts Council will host an exhibition on both macro and aerial photography in the arts council galleries at 111 S. Washington St. in Shelby, NC. For more information visit www.ccartscouncil.org.

Cruisin’ for a Cause! Saturday, September 21: The Annual Cruisin’ for a Cause event with classic cars and trucks, live music, beer tents, and for food for purchase is still ONLY $1 5 to cruise and park on Main Street like you use to! OR $5 just to cruise. The event is from 5-10 p.m. and you can come and go as you want. The cruisin’ route is East Main Street from Laurel and around the Court Square! Collect those cruisin’ magnets! Crouse Fire Dept. Poor Man’s Supper Sept. 21: Come on out for our Poor Man’s Supper at Crouse Fire Department on Saturday, September 21 from 4-8 p.m. For $7.00 you can get a bowl of pinto beans with cornbread and onions plus have your choice of tea, coffee or water. Come on in and eat! The fire station is located at 2765 NC-150, Crouse, NC 28033.

Lincoln County Marching Band Preview, Saturday, September 21: Featuring all four marching bands from Lincoln County the annual Marching Band preview will be held at the Lincolnton High School Stadium. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. with the first performance at 7:30 p.m. Concessions, air grams and other items will be available for purchase. Admission is $5 with Lincoln County School employees getting in for free with their badge.

Lincolnton Alive After Five Concert, Thursday, September 26: Come out and join un for a great night of fun and fantastic musical entertainment on our last concert of the season with Chairman of the Board on Thursday, September 26 from 7-10 p.m. This is a free concert and you don't want to miss it. The stage is set up in front of the Court House on East Main Street and food trucks will be available. You can also purchase beer and wine at the event (you must be 21 in order to purchase and consume alcohol so make sure you have your ID). No outside alcohol and no dogs are allowed at the event for everyone's safety. Bring your dancing shoes and a friend or two for some summertime excitement! Cleveland County Fair, September 26 – October 6: The Cleveland County Fair is hitting the century mark of operation this year and will open its gates at 1751 E. Marion St. in Shelby, NC on Thursday, September 26 and will run through Sunday, October 6. The fairgrounds have been remodeled for this celebration with new bathrooms, a new fire department, new asphalt, new fencing and new painted buildings. There will be a wide variety of food, rides, games of skill and music shows along with demolition derby, dirt bikes and tractor pulls and over 75 exhibitors from far and wide for the agriculture, science, and craft displays. Free and paid parking available. No alcoholic beverages or weapons are permitted on the fairgrounds. Lincoln Theatre Guild “The Beverly Hillbillies”, September 27-29: Due to construction delays in the Lincoln Cultural Center, the shows for September 20-22 have been cancelled. There will be three performances of "The Beverly Hillbillies" next weekend as originally planned on Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, September 29 at 2 p.m. All performances will be in the Lincoln Cultural Center.  All tickets purchased for September 20-22 will be honored for September 27-29, or a refund will be made available. Mike Wirth will be contacting everyone who purchased through Booktix. Due to only three shows, "Lincoln Theatre Gift Day" (pay what you're able) will not be held. Ticket prices for Friday and Saturday will be $15 for adults/$12 for seniors and students. We will, however, have "Senior Sunday" with $5 tickets for Senior Citizens (60+) on Sunday, September 29. Tickets are available at lincolntg.booktix.com and the Lincoln Cultural Center.

LC Senior Services Yard Sale, Saturday, September 28: Lincoln County Senior Services will host a Yard Sale where you can Get More and Save More on Saturday, September 28 from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Homemade biscuits and coffee for sale also. Plus, YOU can participate too! Tables are $5. Senior Services is located at 612 Center Dr., Lincolnton, NC 28092. For more info, please call 704-732-9053. Check them out on Facebook!

LC Apple Festival, Saturday, October 19: The Lincoln County Apple Festival is the largest festival in the City of Lincolnton each year and features all things Lincoln County from agriculture to artisans, cooking to crafts, and food to fun! A family-friendly event that features local apple growers, a farmer’s market, local talent, foods that include apples, kid’s activities and more than 250 vendors with crafts and exhibits for all ages. This year’s festival will be held on Saturday, October 19 from 9 am. Until 4 p.m. in downtown Lincolnton. For more information visit https://www.lincolncountyapplefestival.com/
