Christian Ministry Golf Tourney Is Aug. 10

Plus: soup kitchen needs coverage Aug. 11

LINCOLNTON––Christian Ministry’s 29th annual benefit golf tournament is fast approaching.

It will be held Aug. 10 at the Lincoln Country Club. All proceeds will benefit the ministry, as executive director Mitzi Williams informed Friday.

“Even if you don’t play golf, there are several ways you can help support our ministry and join with us as we seek to help those in our community,” Williams noted.

She added that these include: donating gift certificates or merchandise to be used as prizes; sponsoring holes for $100 each, with a sign with your name placed at the hole; and sponsoring a team from your church or business.

For more information or to sign up your team, see the ministry’s contact information below.

And the next day, Sunday, Aug. 11, the ministry’s soup kitchen needs volunteer coverage. If you can help, please refer to said contact information at the end of this article.

Thanks to the LHS football team

In other news, on behalf of the ministry, Williams expressed gratitude to the Lincolnton High School Wolfpack football team for its members’ recent help.

“This week,” she said, “we had some of the football players from Lincolnton High School volunteer with us. These guys worked hard on the dock, in the warehouse, the kitchen and other areas. We appreciate them giving of their time this summer to help those in the community. Go, Wolves!”
