Ernest James Jones
January 4, 1953 – August 9, 2024
LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Ernest James Jones, age 71, of Lincolnton passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Valley Hill Health and Rehab Center in Hendersonville.
Born on January 4, 1953 in Lincolnton. Ernest enjoyed fishing and was known to be quite the jokester at times.
Those left to cherish his memory include daughter, Jennifer Sigmon Purkey (Brian); son, Jamie Jones Beal; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; sister Joyce Barkley (Steve); brothers, Robert Ray (Penny), Melvin Eugene (Barbara).
In addition to his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lee Jones.
A celebration of life will be held at Union Baptist Church in Lincolnton on Saturday, August, 31, 2024 at 2 p.m. with Melvin Jones officiating.
Mountain View Cremation & Funeral Care of Arden, N.C. is serving the Jones family.
