Fatal Collision In Caldwell County, Sunday
Zachary Cayden Hatton is dead at just 23 years of age

LENOIR––A man is dead following a Sunday morning collision in Caldwell County.
According to Master Trooper Christopher Casey of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, NCSHP personnel responded at about 4:10 a.m. to investigate the fatal crash on Blue Creek Road near Grandin Road.
“A 2018 Dodge ‘Ram 2500’ was travelling west on Blue Creek Road,” Casey states, “when the driver lost control, crossed the center line, drove off the left side of the road and struck a tree.”
The driver, Zachary Cayden Hatton, 23, of Lenoir, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
“The initial investigation does not indicate speed or alcohol to be contributing circumstances in the collision,” Casey adds. “During the on-scene investigation, Blue Creek Road was closed in the area for approximately three hours.”
