Grady Eugene “Gene”
Grady Eugene “Gene” Cash, 81, of Conover, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025 at Carolina Caring Sherrills Ford Hospice House.
A native of Catawba County, Gene was born August 26, 1943 to the late Grady and Eunice Jones Cash. He enjoyed playing bluegrass, serving the people of Hickory by selling produce, and helping his community in any way he could.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Pete, Wray, and Carl; and sisters, Marie Wray and Shirley Hale.

A service to celebrate Gene’s life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Bennett Funeral Service, 7878 NC Hwy 16, Newton. Rev. Barry Philbeck will officiate. Burial will follow at Conover City Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at Bennett Funeral Service. Those serving as pallbearers will be Shane Burleson, Justin Panther, Glenn Flowers, Chuckie Hames, and Jeff Cash. Honorary pallbearer will be Bobby Sigmon.
