NEWTON, N.C. - Linda Fish Wooten, 82, of Newton, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.

She was born July 31, 1942 in Catawba County to the late Jack Fish and Berlene Hefner Fish. Linda was of the Baptist faith and retired as a bank teller.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald L. Wooten Sr.; and granddaughter, Katlin Knapp-Wooten.

Those left to cherish her memory is her son Gerald “Jerry” L. Wooten Jr. and wife Tera of Newton; daughters Donna Hector and husband Tyrone of Newton, Angela Peralta and husband Eidonet of Wilmington; grandchildren Kenneth Kurts (Shanna), Brittany Woods (Terrill), Tyler Kurtz, Aaron Hector (Kelsey), Nathan Jancse, Andrew Jancse, Allyssa Hector (Lorenzo Brooks), Elena Wooten, and Garrett Wooten (Madison); great-grandchildren Camdyn Woods, Kolby Woods, Aiden Woods, Maddox Woods, Zoe Wooten, Zayden Wooten, Zayla Wooten, Zariah Wooten, Cayden Wooten, and James Kurtz; other cherished family and friends Ruby Childers (Gary), Wesley Butterfield (Paige), and Angeline Wooten; and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.  

A memorial service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Olivet Baptist Church in Catawba. Rev. James Hefner will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12-12:45 p.m. at Olivet Baptist Church.
