CLAREMONT, N.C. - Linda Lee Henderson Greene, 77, of Claremont, fell asleep in Christ on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory.

She was born May 10, 1947 in Washington, D.C. to the late Rodney and Dorothy Henderson. Linda was a member of Tri-City Baptist Church in Conover and worked in the furniture industry. She enjoyed going out to eat with her husband and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Roderick J. Henderson and Ania Marie Saul; maternal grandparents, Andrew H. Degges and Daisy Violet Clark; brother, Bubba (James) Jenkins; sisters, Pat Jenkins Keilmann and husband Stan, Bobby (Barbara) Jenkins Jett and husband Sonny; brother-in-law, Dick Anckner.

Those left to cherish her memory is her husband of 59 years Bruce Greene of the home; sons Mark Anthony Greene of Conover, Keith Matthew Greene of Hickory; brother Roderick Henderson and wife Carolyn of Alexandria, Va.; sisters Ann Anckner of Arlington, Va., Dorothy Henderson of Brake Ranch, Va.; sister-in-law Beattie Jenkins of Indian Land, Md.; nieces Carolyn Ann Jett, Kim Jenkins, Charise Henderson, Michelle Henderson; nephews Mike Anckner, Scott Anckner; great-nieces and nephews Jimmy (James) Jett, Jim Jenkins, Lynn Jenkins, Andrew Anckner, Tony Henderson, Tiffany Henderson, Christopher Henderson; grandchildren Amanda Yarborough, Alex Greene and Amy Greene; great-grandchildren Jolene Joy Greene, Xavier Prescott, Xander Prescott, Xaria Yarborough, and Xailey Yarborough.

A memorial service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Bennett Funeral Service, 7878 NC Hwy 16, Newton. Elder Robert Riggan will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-1:45 p.m.
