Mary Louise Turner
March 18, 1952 - October 17, 2025

GREENWOOD, S.C. — Mary Louise Turner, 73, of Greenwood, loving wife of Ray Beaman Turner Jr., went to be with the lord on October 17, 2025, at her home.
Born March 18, 1952, she was a daughter of Pete and Liza Jane Smith Wright.
She was one of 13 siblings raised on a farm near Lincolnton, North Carolina. In 1970, she graduated from Lincolnton High School. After high school, she worked as a mechanical inspector in several different machining and manufacturing plants and was a certified government inspector prior to her retirement.
Growing up on the farm fostered a love for working in the yard. She loved planting and caring for her flowers, especially her roses. She loved unconditionally and never met a stranger. "Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and forever dear".
She is survived by her husband, Ray, of the home; daughter, Windy Jane Herlong of Daytona, Florida; stepdaughter, Dana Turner Sanders (Jeff) of Inman, South Carolina; brothers, Donnie Wright and Billie Wright; sisters, Jeanette Lail, Diane Duncan and Roxanne Sanchez; and her beloved grandchildren, Sierra Cagle, Dennis Walker, Harley Herlong, Courtney McCall, Taylor Burgess, Dylan Sanders, Collin Sanders, Kirsten Delgado and Jenny Timmerman.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Stephen Randy Herlong; daughter, Dawnita Michelle Herlong; stepdaughter, Sonya Turner Banks; and several brothers and sisters.
The family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful care provided by Miranda and Cheryl of Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont during her final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.
A private celebration of Mary's life will be held at a future date.
The family is at their respective homes.
Harley Funeral Home and Crematory of Greenwood, SC is serving the Turner family.
