North Carolinians Attend #UniteNC “Ready to Vote” Training To Address 2024 Elections Changes In Lincolnton
Lincoln County Stop Is The Latest On 100-County N.C. Tour
LINCOLNTON, N.C. — As the 2024 elections cycle heats up, local North Carolinians will be getting a head’s up on big changes to the state’s voting rules.
On Tuesday September 10, the #UniteNC “Ready to Vote” Community Education Tour is coming to Lincolnton. The Lincoln County stop is open to the public, including state, local, and election officials. No RSVP is required.
WHAT: UniteNC Lincoln County “Ready to Vote” Community Education Training
WHEN: Tuesday, September 10, from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
LOCATION: 129 West Water St., Lincolnton, North Carolina (behind Citizens Center)
WHO: Experts will provide the latest on voting, elections, and district changes, distribute non-partisan voting resources, and answer questions.
From updates on voter registration forms and mail-in voting changes to the specifics of the new photo voter ID requirement, this local training is part of a 100-county training series powered by voting rights nonprofit Common Cause NC and its state and local partners. Each event provides an opportunity for North Carolina voters to hear and receive the latest nonpartisan voting information to navigate (and help their communities navigate) 2024 elections and ask questions of local election experts.
With print resources available to all who attend, the training is designed to help locals share, in plain language, what they can expect when they cast a ballot this fall.
“North Carolina’s 2024 primary elections made clear that North Carolinians have very real questions about new voting rules,” said Common Cause NC Deputy Director Sailor Jones. “With record turnout possible in our state’s 2024 general election, and so many new and infrequent voters headed to the polls this fall, it’s our job to help communities across the state make sure they are ready to vote, regardless of where — or how —they cast their ballot. Voting begins on Sept. 6 in North Carolina — it’s time we all get ready.”
Media are invited to attend and document the training.
