LOWESVILLE––The Monroe-based Montgomerys will perform a free concert on Saturday, Aug. 10.
The Vineyard Church of Lowesville is the place to be that evening at 5 p.m., according to noted gospel singer and concert co-ordinator Carroll Cooke. And although the concert is free, as Cooke recently noted, a free-will offering will be taken up.
The Montgomerys’ history as a family of Southern gospel singers goes back more than half a century. It all began with Harold and Ronda Montgomery and two very young daughters, Robin and Lisa. All of them reflected a steadfast commitment to family and ministry.
Today, Robin Montgomery Stegall sings soprano in the group. She is joined by her sister, Lisa Montgomery Simpson, known for her energy and charisma. And her husband, Jeff Simpson, sings tenor and is known for his work as an accountant and as a church deacon.
Also performing will be the Justified Quartet of Michigan. Members Tim Caldwell, Mark Jacoby, Anthony Patton and Tony Goforth have released multiple albums. They love to give their testimonies in song and share their love of Jesus with their audiences.
The Vineyard Church is located at 1062 NC-16 South in Lowesville. It features Southern, bluegrass and/or acoustic gospel concerts every Saturday evening.
Also appearing will be the Justified Quartet.
