CVCC Graduates Latest BLET Class
Members of the 79th such class in program’s history
HICKORY––Catawba Valley Community College graduated its 79th Basic Law-Enforcement Training class last week.
On Aug. 15, the BLET graduates walked across the stage in front of friends and family members during the formal graduation ceremonies.
Graduates included Aidan Alston (Maiden Police Department); Luiz Baldizon Montejo (Gastonia Police Department); Jerry Barkley (Claremont Police Department); Brandon Crotts (Hickory Police Department); Karina Godoy (Hickory Police Department); Joshua Harper (Gastonia Police Department); Dorin Hawley (Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office); Houa Moua (Catawba County Sheriff’s Office); Jennifer Roland (Hudson Police Department); and Nathaniel Stacks (Long View Police Department).
Clyde Deal, CVCC’s chief of security and law-enforcement education, said that all the cadets passed the comprehensive 300-question state exam and physical fitness test required to receive BLET certification. All of the grads state that they look forward to fulfilling careers in law-enforcement with their respective departments.
Deal added that the results exemplify the hard work of cadets, instructors, staffers and the members of the college administration. All members of these four groups arrange and provide the needed resources to the program.
“Thank you again to all partners and instructors who continue to support the BLET program at CVCC,” said Deal.
