LOWESVILLE––The Virginia-based Promised Land Quartet will perform a free concert this Saturday (Oct. 19) at 5 p.m.
The Vineyard Church of Lowesville is the place to be, according to noted gospel singer and concert co-ordinator Carroll Cooke. And although the concert is free, as Cooke recently noted, a free-will offering will be taken up.
Hailing from the Shenandoah Valley, the Promised Land Quartet features Joey Wilson, Gene Hamman, Steve Barnett and Aaron Swain. They respectively handle the tenor, lead, bass and baritone vocal chores.
Since January of 2000, this exciting group of four men has travelled the highways and byways of America and even gone overseas to spread the message of hope that can only be found in Jesus Christ and to let everyone know that He offers abundant life and salvation to all who call on Him.
The group is known for such hits as “Brand New Heart,” “I Love That Music,” “When the Son Arrives,” and “Don’t Let Me Miss the Glory.” The men have made their mark in gospel music with an upbeat sound and unique arrangements. At an event with the Promised Land Quartet, one can expect to laugh, cry and be uplifted and edified, as well as given the opportunity to know the One the group sings about. As they are fond of proclaiming, “If you walked in the doors, lost without Christ, you don’t have to leave that way!”
The Vineyard Church is located at 1062 NC-16 South in Lowesville, just down the road from Hill’s Chapel United Methodist Church. The church features Southern, bluegrass and/or acoustic gospel concerts every Saturday evening.
