N.C. Senior American Legion Baseball State Championship Tournament Celebration & Activities, July 18-24: Join us in Cherryville, N.C., for an action-packed week of baseball fun! Enjoy seven days filled with exciting activities, including a free concert by the Band of Oz on Thursday, July 18 at 7 p.m., a parade of teams on Friday, July 19 at 5 p.m. on Main Street, our prestigious Hall of Fame event at 6 p.m., an exhilarating “free” Home Run Derby on Friday, July 19 at 8 p.m. at “Buck” Fraley Field. Plus, don't miss out on the thrilling tournament games happening all week long from Saturday, July 20 through Wednesday, July 24. Be part of the excitement—come and join the celebration! Senior Fest – Celebration Of Older Americans Month, Friday, July 19: The Lincoln County Department of Socials Services will host Senior Fest at the DSS facility on Friday, July 19 from 1-4 p.m. Vendors will be available to share information with our older citizens in honor of Older Americans Month and help in preventing worldwide elder abuse. Be A Hero Lincolnton ComicCon 2024, Saturday, July 20: Lots of vendors, artists, exhibitors, music, food and drinks at the 2024 Be A Hero Lincolnton ComicCon at Lincolnton High School on Saturday, July 20 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Only $5 per person and kids 15 and under get in for FREE! All proceeds from ticket sales and booth rentals go to Communities In Schools of Lincoln County.
Breakfast With Bishop W.C. Martin, #IsThereOne, Saturday, July 20: Join the fight to end the foster care crisis! There are over 700 churches in Gaston County and over 400 children in DHHS-Social Services’ custody. With your partnership we will have everything we need to end this crisis! Join the #IsThereOne movement to see how you can become an advocate for the most vulnerable children and families. Gaston County DHHS-Social Services and the Guardian ad Litem’s Office cordially invites you to join us for breakfast and conversations with Bishop W.C. Martin of Bennett Chapel Missionary Baptist Church to learn how his congregation ended the foster care crisis in Possum Trot, Texas. The event on Saturday, July 20 at 9 a.m. at Legacy Event Center, 207 S. Chestnut St. in Gastonia is free to the public but registration is required. Lincoln Theatre Guild Annual Meeting, Monday, July 22: The Annual Meeting of the Lincoln Theatre Guild will be held on Monday, July 22, at 7 p.m. in the Lincoln Cultural Center Reception Hall. On the agenda will be a review of the 2023-2024 season, discussion of the 2024-2025 season, the election of board members, and selection of an executive board. Membership fee payment of $10 for the year will be collected at this time. Get Involved! Support the Arts in Lincoln County!
Lincolnton Alive After Five Concert, Thursday, July 25: Come out and join un for a great night of fun and fantastic musical entertainment with The Tonez on Thursday, July 25 from 7-10 p.m. This is a free concert and you don't want to miss it. The stage is set up in front of the Court House on East Main Street and food trucks will be available. You can also purchase beer and wine at the event (you must be 21 in order to purchase and consume alcohol so make sure you have your ID). No outside alcohol and no dogs are allowed at the event for everyone's safety. Bring your dancing shoes and a friend or two for some summertime excitement!
