Larceny Of HVAC Unit From Home In Alexis

GCPD asking public’s help to catch thieves

ALEXIS––The Gaston County Police Department is seeking the public’s help in a larceny case.

According to a Friday statement from the GCPD, it involves the theft of a heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) unit from a home located off Sadler Road in Alexis. The incident occurred Oct. 14, between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The department has released photographs showing a white female, wearing a dark-colored coat, gray toboggan cap, jeans and sneakers. The female appears to have dark hair. The second suspect is a white male wearing a red or orange hooded sweatshirt. The suspects were in a silver or grey Chevrolet “S-10” pick-up truck, made between 1994 and 1997. The female was driving, and the male was a passenger.

The Chevy was captured on video entering the property with an empty truck-bed. It later left the property with the HVAC unit in the bed of the truck. The HVAC unit stolen from the residence was an older Bryant model.
