SHERRILLS FORD, N.C. - Jack David Jones Sr., age 81, of Sherrills Ford passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Center after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Born February 4, 1942 in Binghamton, New York, he was the son of Jeff and Minnie Jones. Jack graduated from

Susquehanna Valley High School in 1964. He was a member of Friendly Chapel Baptist Church in Maiden. Jack was a proud Army Veteran who served our Country for 20 years. He later joined the team at Holox where he finished his career working in various capacities. Jack was an avid outdoorsman and athlete. Jack was a dedicated father, husband, and grandfather. Jack was humble and forgiving and shared his love with all that he met.

He is survived by wife Rebecca Jones of Sherrills Ford; two sons Jack Jones Jr. and Doug Jones of Sherrills Ford; daughter-in-law Kim Jones of Stanley; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jack was pre-deceased by his mother, father, three siblings, and dear son Scott Jones.

A memorial service to celebrate Jack’s life will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Friendly Chapel Baptist Church in Maiden. Rev. Luke Connor and Rev. Jeff Harris will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at Friendly Chapel Baptist Church.
