It's not exactly local news, but since the license tag office in Boger City has been in the news recently, we offer the following information from the NCDOT:
The NC Division of Motor Vehicles’ license plate agency in Mooresville will close at 5 PM on Wednesday Feb. 14th after the current operator announced her retirement.
The current agency, at 125 N. Main St., Suite 5, in Mooresville, has been operated by Pamela Morgan since 2015. A new agency will open under a selected contractor at a later date.
In the meantime, five nearby license plate agencies offer service Monday through Friday:
- Statesville, 121 W. Water St.
- Salisbury, 130 E. Kerr St.
- Kannapolis, 1509 Dale Earnhardt Blvd.
- Concord, 929-D Concord Pkwy-south
- Huntersville Express, 12101 Mount Holly-Huntersville Rd.
LPAs offer vehicle registration services and title transactions, as well as vehicle license plate renewals, replacement tags and duplicate registrations. Currently, 117 license plate agencies operate in North Carolina.
People are reminded that many vehicle services can be completed online, including property tax payments and registration renewals. To get started, please visit MyNCDMV.gov.
