Early Voting Starts Feb. 15 In Lincoln County
LINCOLNTON––In recent years, early voting has gained increasing popularity with many voters.
Vanessa León And here in Lincoln County, it’s right around the corner. According to Lincoln County Public Information Officer Vanessa León, early voting in Lincoln County will begin on Feb. 15 at four locations. Early voting hours will be held daily, 8 a.m.-7:30 p.m., until March 2, except for Saturdays, which will be 8 a.m.-3 p.m. The sites will be closed on Sundays.
León continued that the four locations to choose from are the:
- Lincoln County Board of Elections Office, 451 Salem Church Road, Lincolnton, N.C. 28092
- Lentz Gym at Ross Park, 800 Madison St., Lincolnton, N.C. 28092
- West Lincoln Branch of the Lincoln County Public Library, 4797 Westwinds Road, Lincolnton, N.C. 28092
- and the East Lincoln Recreation Center, 8160 Optimist Club Road, Denver, N.C. 28037.
León added that those who wish to take advantage of this early voting option may do so at any of these sites, regardless of where they may live within the county.
According to Gallup, 41 percent of registered voters plan to vote early. But more than twice as many plan to vote in person than by absentee ballot. And Democrats are likelier than Republicans to vote early.
