LINCOLNTON––Prom season is just a few weeks away.

And if you’re a local girl in search of a dress, Asbury Methodist Church has the answer for you. According to Rev. Natalie Gray, the King’s Daughter Prom Dress Closet will have free prom dresses available March 1, 6-8 p.m., and again March 2, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Asbury Resource Center (or ARC) at 221 Salem Church Road in Lincolnton.

As Gray shared Wednesday, the event will be hosted by the ARC and Asbury Methodist, and church volunteers will be on hand to help out. Prom dresses will be available in a wide variety of sizes, styles and colors, she added, and there will also be some free shoes available as well.

“This is for young ladies in high school that are in search of a prom dress,” she continued. “During the six weeks of Lent, Asbury Methodist Church’s congregation is doing projects each week to give back instead of giving up things for Lent.”

Gray also invited the public to Asbury Methodist for services.

“Come join us for worship,” she said, “Sundays at 11 a.m.!”
