First UMC Lincolnton Community Lenten Services, February 28 – March 20: First United Methodist Church, 217 E. Main St., Lincolnton, NC 28092 will host this years’ Community Lenten Services with six participating churches. Services will be held in their fellowship hall every Wednesday from February 14 through March 20. Lunch is $6 and will begin at noon with worship to follow from 12:30 until 1 p.m. All are welcome. Guest Speakers: February 28 Rev. Reed Conley of the Artisan church; March 6 Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence of First Baptist, March 13 Rev. Elizabeth Tester of St. Luke’s Episcopal and March 20 Rev. Judy Drysdale of Emmanuel Lutheran.

Bethel Baptist Gospel Music Jam, Friday, February 23: Join us at Bethel Baptist Church, 200 Bethel Church Rd., Lincolnton, NC 28092 for our monthly Gospel Music Jam on the fourth Friday of each month at 6 p.m. Come play, sing, fellowship, and eat a meal with us. We would love to have you! Bethel Baptist Church service times: Sunday School 9 a.m.; Sunday Worship 10 a.m.; Sunday Night Service 5:30 p.m.; Wednesday Night Bible Study 6 p.m.; Pack 72, Troop 72B and 72G meetings are held at 6 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Asbury Methodist Prom Dress Closet, March 1-2: Are you a local girl in search of a dress, Asbury Methodist Church has the answer for you. The King’s Daughter Prom Dress Closet will have free prom dresses available March 1, 6-8 p.m., and again March 2, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Asbury Resource Center (or ARC) at 221 Salem Church Road in Lincolnton.  The event will be hosted by the ARC and Asbury Methodist, and church volunteers will be on hand to help out. Prom dresses will be available in a wide variety of sizes, styles and colors, and there will also be some free shoes available as well. Bethel Baptist Community Breakfast, Saturday, March 2: Join us at Bethel Baptist Church, 200 Bethel Church Rd., Lincolnton, NC 28092 for our Community Breakfast (1st Saturday of every month 7 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.). We will be serving all of your country favorites, along with something sweet and a breakfast casserole! Donations only. McKendree MC Breakfast, Saturday, March 9: A Full Country Breakfast with all the fixins will be held on Saturday, March 9 from 7 to 10:30 a.m. at McKendree Methodist Church, 3537 Maiden Hwy., Lincolnton, NC 28092. Requested donation of $8 per person with both dine-in and take-out available. NOTE: McKendree will be hosting these breakfasts the second Saturday of each month until further notice.

Crouse UMC Free Community Breakfast, Saturday, March 9: Join us for a FREE Home Cooked Breakfast with Friends and Neighbors on Saturday, March 9 from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Breakfast menu varies each month. Marvin UMC Poor Man’s Supper, Saturday, March 9: Marvin United Methodist Church, 2731 Startown Road, Lincolnton, ND 28092 will host a Poor Man’s Supper on Saturday, March 9, from 11 a.m.  until 1 p.m. The meal will include pinto beans, coleslaw, cornbread and dessert.  Dine in or take-out available.  Donations accepted. Lowesville Gospel Concerts/Vineyard Church, Texas Star, Saturday, March 9: Vineyard Church (formerly Living Word Ministries), 1062 South Hwy 16, Stanley (Lowesville), NC presents Texas Star on Saturday, March 9 at 5 p.m. Based in Weatherford, Texas, Texas Star is comprised of Jeremie Hudson, J.D. Meeker, Matt Felts and Justin Terry. The group is quite recent in its formation, having launched in 2022. Individually, the members of the group have been in such musical acts as the Imperials, the Blackwoods and the Dixie Melody Boys. They have won numerous awards; been inducted into multiple halls of fame; and enjoyed dozens of hit songs. Together, they make up a vocal supergroup. All our concerts are No Admission Cost, a freewill offering only will be received, and you are invited. We have concerts every 2nd and 4th Saturday. Boger City UMM Meeting, Thursday, March 14: The Boger City United Methodist Men will meet every second Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at Brookwood Café, 220 Providence Mill Road in Maiden for a Dutch treat meal and fellowship. The meeting will be held in a private meeting room. All United Methodist Men are invited to attend.

Victory Life Drive-Thru Prayer, Saturday, March 16: Victory Life Church, 1495 N. Aspen St., Lincolnton, NC 28092 will host a Drive-Thru Prayer every 3rd Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Lowesville Gospel Concerts/Vineyard Church, Carolina The Band, Saturday, March 23: Vineyard Church (formerly Living Word Ministries), 1062 South Hwy 16, Stanley (Lowesville), NC presents Texas Star on Saturday, March 23 at 5 p.m. This remarkable musical act is a high-energy touring group hailing from both Carolinas. If you long for the rustic sounds of classic country music, reminiscent of the  Oak Ridge Boys and the Statler Brothers, Carolina is your band. Its members are unashamed of the gospel, passionate about the importance of family and proudly patriotic. Carolina is paving the way for a revival of country music back to its roots.
