LINCOLNTON––Concerned about flood insurance?

The County wants to hear from you. According to Lincoln County Public Information Officer Vanessa León, Lincoln County residents and members of the business community will have the opportunity to review and ask questions about the preliminary data in the newly updated flood-insurance rate maps (or FIRM’s) for Lincoln County.

And there will be a public meeting on the subject on Feb. 7, 5-7 p.m., in the Lincoln County Administration Building’s board room at 353 N. Generals Blvd. in Lincolnton. At this meeting, citizens may view preliminary flood maps, both for Lincoln County and Lincolnton itself. You’ll be able to locate your property on the flood maps and talk about how they’re connected to flood insurance and flood plain management. Further, you’ll be able to speak with representatives of North Carolina Emergency Management about the National Flood Insurance Program (or NFIP).
