HICKORY, N.C. - Glenn “Pete” Everett Sherrill, 95, of Hickory, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Trinity Village in Hickory.

He was born April 29, 1928 in Catawba County to the late Grover Franklin Sherrill and Bertha Hollar Sherrill. Glenn was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church LCMS in Hickory and retired from the furniture industry. He loved the Lord and his family, and enjoyed gardening.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Bowman Sherrill.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters Glenda Littleton and husband Jim of Mt. Airy, Denise Caldwell and husband Mike of Hickory, Debbie Thomas and husband John of Taylorsville; brother Bill Sherrill and wife Jean of Conover; sister Rena Sherrill Bowers of High Point; grandchildren Jim Littleton (April), Sean Huffman (Lynn), Michone Coleman (Mark), Heather Hubbard (Chad), Jordan Caldwell (Courtney), and bonus grandsons, Todd and Jason Thomas; great-grandchildren Dr. Sheridan Littleton, Everett Littleton, Bryson Coleman, Phenix Hubbard, and Theo and Hadley Caldwell.

A service to celebrate Glenn’s life was held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 3 p.m. at St. Stephens Lutheran Church LCMS in Hickory. Rev. David Ziehr and Rev. Shea Pennington officiated. Burial followed at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Hickory. The family received friends prior to the service from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at St. Stephens Lutheran Church LCMS.
