Catawba Valley Community College began a new Internet-based program this week.
The education preparation program (or EPP) is called “Cultivating Carolina Classrooms.” This three-semester program, featuring seven classes available over the Internet, is part of CVCC’s existing early childhood and teacher preparation curriculum programs. It is offered through the college’s school of community development and public services education.
This EPP offers a pathway to elementary education licensing for teachers who are currently working in kindergarten through the sixth grade and who have completed a non-education-related bachelor’s degree and have obtained a position in a school system that requires a teaching license. The program starts in August.
