SEPT. 15TH SCORES

Bunker Hill 45, Lincolnton 37 FINAL

Bunker Hill intercepted a pass on LHS's first possession and a 'pick six' & the Alan Bahena-Soto EP kick made it Bears 7, Wolves 0...

the Bears' Soto then kicked a field goal to make it 10-0...

On the Wolves' second possession, Khamoni Heath scored for the Wolves on an 11-yd run to make it BH 10, LHS 6...

A 25-yd TD pass & EP gave the Bears a 17-6 lead in the first qtr...

Bunker Hill scored again early in the second & the EP kick made it Bears 24, LHS 6...

On the ensuing kickoff, Nehemiah Lynch ran 85 yds with a kickoff return and the EP kick was good to cut the lead to BH 24, LHS 13....

Heath ran for another Wolves TD but a two-point try was no good and it was BH 24, LHS 19 midway thru the 2nd qtr...

But the Bears scored again to take a 31-19 lead with four minutes left in the first half...

The teams traded interceptions and it was 31-19 at halftime....

In the third period, Andre Bost threw a 50-yd TD pass to Khalil Yarborough and when the EP try failed, it was Bears 31, Wolves 25 four minutes into the 3rd quarter, and it was still 31-25 going into the fourth....

BH scored and with the EP kick led 38-25...

Andre Bost returned their kickoff following that score 90 yds for a TD to make it 38-31 (the EP try missed)....

The Bears scored again to make it 45-31 with six minutes left in the game...

A 75-yd punt return by Treylen Bost cut the lead to 45-37 and Lincolnton tried an on-side kick with only seconds left in the game but a Bears player caught the ball and the final was 45-37 as Bunker Hill remained unbeaten. 

For the night, Andre Bost ran for 163 yards, passed 18 times, completing 7 for 115 yds--he had one pass intercepted, and he scored on that long kick return.  Khamoni Heath ran for 82 yds.  Khalil Yarborough caught three passes for 57 yds and a TD; Andrew Phelps had two catches for 43 yds.  On defense, Karson Cloninger had 19 tackles, Andrew Phelps had 13, Treylen Bost had 10 tackles and an interception, Tygra Owens also had an interception.  Geviaunta Walker had 7 tackles, a QB sack, and recovered a Bears fumble. Peyton Rangel had 10 tackles.

West Lincoln 36, Bandys 28 FINAL

West recovered a fumble that set up a one-yard TD run by QB Gideon Allen and the Rebels led 6-0, the EP kick was no good...

Bandys tied the score on a 2-yd Brady Swett run & Chris Moore's kick made it Bandys 7, WL 6....

A 5-yd TD run by Caden Smith and a successful two-point conversion run by Jaylin Winnex gave the Rebels at 14-7 lead at the end of the first qtr...

With less than a minute left in the first half, Swett hit Cash Obregon with a TD pass, and the EP kick tied the score 14-all at halftime....

West took the second half kickoff and scored on a 60-yd run by Winnex, but a two-point try failed and it was Rebels 20, Bandys 14 a minute into the 2nd half...

Swett then threw a 40-yd strike to Obregon and the EP kick made it Bandys 21, West Lincoln 20 three minutes into the third qtr...

With four minutes left in the period, Swett threw another TD pass, this time to Christian Etter and the EP kick made it 28-20...

But West scored with one minute left in the third on a two-yd run by Winnex and a two-point EP conversion run by Smith tied the score at 28-all...and that was what it was going into the final period...

Early in the fourth, a 19-ydTD run by Lucas Blackburn and a two-point EP run by Jaylin Winnex gave WL a 36-28 lead....

Neither team scored after that and West Lincoln remains undefeated with a 36-28 win.

The Rebels amassed 468 yards rushing for the night, 271 of those by Winnex; Caden Smith had 103 yds rushing; and Lucas Blackburn had 59.  Gideon Allen ran for 35 yds, completed 2 of his 4 passes (both to Smith) for 21.  

On defense, Keegan Bostic had 7 tackles &  3 assists; JJ Phansook had 6 tackles and an assist; Jaylin Winnex had 6 tackles and an interception;  Caden Smith, Bryce Beddingfield, and Drake Wood each had 3 tackles; Ben Sain had 2 tackles & 3 assists; Drew Ponder, 2 tackles, 2 assists and an interception; Camden Sain, 2 tackles & an assist; Tyler Avery, 1 tackle & 2 assists;  Duck Hice, 1 tackle; and Zander Harrelson, 2 assists.

Hickory 49, East Lincoln 28 FINAL

East scored first to take a 7-0 lead...

Hickory then scored on a 4th & 6 from the EL 14-yd line and the EP kick tied the score at 7-all with 6:44 left in the first qtr....

Hickory recovered a Mustangs fumble at the East 23...a pass to the end zone was broken up by Jaelyn Roseboro, but East was called for holding moving the ball to the EL 10-yd line...after they ran to the five, a TD pass and a missed EP kick gave the Red Tornadoes a 13-7 lead with 37 seconds left in the first period...

East scored and made an EP kick to take a 14-13 lead in the 2nd period...

A Hickory punt put East on their own 11-yd line and three plays got them nothing so they had to punt from their own end zone; Hickory took over at the Mustangs 39 with less than three minutes left in the first half; and with 1:49 left until halftime, they got a TD pass and two-point EP conversion to lead 21-14 at the half....

Hickory scored with 9:30 to go in the 3rd period and the EP kick made it Hickory 28, East Lincoln 14...

With 7:53 left in the 3rd, East scored on a 60-yd pass from Grant Lawless to Riley Shropshire and the Braden Kendall EP kick cut the lead to 28-21....

Hickory scored again with 3:22 left in the third to lead 35-21....

East scored with 1:23 left in the third on a 39-yd Jarvis Stevens run and Kendall's kick made it 35-28; but that was it for the Mustangs, they didn't score again.

In the fourth period, the Red Tornadoes did score again and led 42-28, then again with 2:22 left in the game to lead 49-28, and that was the final score.

Statesville 18, North Lincoln 14 FINAL

North scored first on a field goal; Knights 3, Greyhounds 0...

Statesville then scored but no EP: Statesville 6, NL 3...

North scored a TD and made a two-point conversion to take the lead 11-6, and that was the halftime score....

Statesville scored with 10:13 left in the third period but failed to make a two-point EP try and it was Statesville 12, North Lincoln 11...

Another NL field goal gave the Knights the lead 14-12...

Statesville scored but failed to make the EP and it was  18-14...

With just over a minute left in the game, the North defense stopped the Greyhounds and they had to punt.  North blocked the punt!  But they were called for roughing the kicker.  The officials marked off the penalty, which gave Statesville a first down.  The clock didn't stop and the game ended with Statesville winning 18-14.

Shelby scored again and again and led 35-0 at the end of the first period...

42-0 in the second qtr...

Maiden 36, East Burke 22 FINAL

The Blue Devils posted a 20-14 lead at the end of the first qtr as Josh Stover threw two touchdown passes to Raheim Misher and one for 21 yds and a TD to Hampton Reed.  Stover ran for a two-point conversion after the Blue Devils second TD.

A field goal with only a minute left in the second period made it 23-14 at halftime...

In the 3rd qtr, East Burke scored, but the Blue Devils answered as Misher caught another TD pass (50 yds) and Michael Ly kicked the EP to make it 30-22....

One more score on a 6-yd run by Stover made it 36-22 the final score.

Burns 74, Highland Tech 0 FINAL

Burns scored on their first possession and each one thereafter to take a 32-0 lead at the end of the first quarter....

They kept pouring it on and were ahead 68-0 at halftime...

By the end of the third qtr, it was 74-0 and that was the final score.

Everybody on the Bulldogs team got a chance to perform.  QB Ben Thompson threw four TD passes--to Graham Warlick, Kenyon Surratt, Kamari Surratt & Jonny Johnson.  He passed for EPs to Marshall McGowan, Landon Dover & Jonny Johnson.  Jeremiah Norris ran for five TDs.  Treyzail Keith Littlejohn ran for one.  McGowan ran for a two-point EP conversion; Zavion Wilson ran for two.  Johnson ran for one and in addition to his TD receptions, he had two interceptions.  

Crest 68, Ashbrook 20 FINAL

Crest 34, Ashbrook 7 in 2nd qtr...

Crest 61-20 in fourth period...

North Iredell 33, Fred T. Foard 0 FINAL

This game was on NFHS (we watched) but they did not change the score at the bottom of the screen and there were no  announcers....when we finally got a chance to see the field scoreboard, North Iredell had just scored and led 33-0...[MaxPreps still had the score listed as 10-10 in 1st qtr; it was apparently in the fourth.]

North Gaston 26, Forestview 20 FINAL

Forestview 13, North Gaston 12 at halftime...

North Gaston 20, Forestview 20 late in 3rd period...

For the Wildcats, it's a rare 'two in a row' (they beat Cherryville last week).  

Kings Mtn. 41, Hunter Huss 0 FINAL

A JaQualyn Sanders 3-yd run and EP kick gave KM the lead 7-0....

A Robt. Kendrick TD run and another Max Thompson kick midway thru the second qtr made it KM 14, Huss 0...

Huss took the second half kickoff but a pick-six by the Mounties and the EP kick by Thompson made it 21-0...

Zandan Zollo scored with a minute left in the third and Thompson's kick made it 28-0 going into the final period...

Zollo had another and Zay Smith had a TD in the fourth and the final was 41-0.

South Point 48, Stuart Cramer 0 FINAL

All South Point as the Red Raiders led 29-0 in the 2nd qtr....

Red Raiders 36-0 at halftime...

42-0 in 3rd period....

Newton-Conover 47, West Caldwell 14 FINAL

The Red Devils led 40-0 at halftime.  For the night, N-C QB Logan Adair completed seven touchdown passes, six of them in the first half.

West Iredell 42, St. Stephens 41 FINAL

St. Stephens 21, West Iredell 13 at halftime....

St. Stephens 35-28 in third period....

West Iredell 42-35 late in 4th period...

FINAL 42-41.
